FAQ's About Implants and Tooth Replacement:
1. Why should I consider Fetner and Hartigan for my tooth replacement?
Experience and the highest quality of materials is what sets us apart.
We have been doing implants in our practice for over 25 years (20,000 and counting!) We are actively involved in implant research and have published in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Alan Fetner is one of the leading implant dentists and has lectured on implants nationally and internationally. Dr. Michael Fetner is the winner of the prestigious 2013 Richard J. Lazzara Fellowship in Implant Dentistry for his continuing research at the University of Florida. (Link:http://dental.ufl.edu/2013/06/25/periodontology-resident- receives-fellowship/) We also teach implant dentistry to other dentists.
We have a unique method of placing implants. Since a beautiful, natural result is what every patient wants, we have developed a "top-down" approach where we carefully plan the final restoration first, then decide which of our numerous implant systems will be perfect for that patient. Because we do so many implants and stand behind every one, we can offer multiple companies' systems giving us and your restorative dentist the flexibility to get the best result. We only use the best implant systems, never cheap copies or clones. We have the latest diagnostic and planning technology such as cone beam "cat scan" machines for perfect placement. Much of a beautiful final smile is the proper shaping, preserving and manipulation of tissue. No one knows how to do this better than a periodontist and we have made this a signature feature of our cases.
2. I have been told I don't have enough bone for implants. Can you help me?
Thanks to technical and biological advancements, we can grow bone where we need it. A regular part of our everyday practice is a set of advanced procedures where we assist your own body's capacity to grow bone where it is needed to place implants. These procedures can all be done under local anesthesia and you can return to work the next day. With few exceptions, everyone is a candidate for implants.
3. Why should I replace my missing teeth?
Even missing back teeth can lead to drifting, spacing of the front teeth, TMJ disorders, pain, poor nutrition, psychological pain and additional tooth loss. Once a tooth is lost, the other teeth start to shift. This is a gradual process, so you might not notice right away. Once it becomes obvious to you, it may require very extensive and expensive treatment to reverse. It is always best to replace missing teeth as soon as possible.
4. Will my insurance cover my treatment?
Most procedures are covered by your insurance and our office team is expert in helping you navigate the insurance maze. We never want cost to come between you and needed therapy, so we offer multiple flexible payment methods. We are also sensitive to your particular needs and will discuss all treatment options so you can make decisions that work best for you.
