Cone Beam CT scans have revolutionized our abiltiy to more accurate and safely place implants in areas of the mouth where minimal bone exists.   We can diagnosis better and more accurately provide care.   This technology is relatively new to dentistry with the introduction of machines that are much smaller than typically seen in hospitals.   A scan takes only seconds and we can generally review the findings miinutes latter.

CT scans also allow us to do Guided Implant Surgery.  With a detailed 3d view offered by the scan, we can position implants on a computer then transfer the exact position to the patient mouth and many times without even a surgical incision.  This is one of the most exciting advances in dentistry and we have had fantastic outcomes.  Below is an example of computer placement of implants.
